The Everly Brothers topped the charts in Britain and America in the late ‘50s and early ‘60s with a series of close-harmony hits including “Wake Up Little Susie”, “Cathy’s Clown”, “Bye Bye Love”, and “All I Have to Do Is Dream”. They set unmatched standards for close harmony, and infused early rock & roll with some of the best elements of country and pop music. The enduring influence of The Everlys’ expressive harmonies is also evident in the work of British Invasion bands like The Beatles and The Hollies, and of folk-oriented acts such as Simon and Garfunkel. This special collector’s edition compiles The Everly Brothers’ two finest releases, consisting of their thrilling debut album for the Cadence label, The Everly Brothers (1957), and their first album for Warner Bros., It’s Everly Time (1960). Both LPs contain the cream of the crop from The Everly Brothers’ hitmaking stretch during their most inspired years. In addition, we have included 8 bonus tracks from the same period. These splendid recordings feature a virtual who's who of fabulous musicians from the Nashville scene, including Chet Atkins, James Clayton, Floyd Cramer, and Ray Edenton, among others.
