The Beach Boys’ vocal harmonies are among the most unmistakable and enduring of the rock & roll era. Their classic songs epitomize the spirit of the California lifestyle and they have become an American icon to a worldwide audience. The quintet places second only to The Beatles in terms of their overall impact on the Top 40. They were the Fab Four’s most serious competitors on a creative level, as well. This quintessential release presents The Beach Boys’ magnificent debut album, Surfin’ Safari, which was originally issued by Capitol Records in 1962. Here you can find the group’s first hit “Surfin’”, plus a string of chart-topping songs, such as “409”, “Surfin’ Safari”, and “Ten Little Indians”, among others. The group’s first LP has been remastered in this very special collector’s edition, which features the original mono version of the album, followed by the stereo mix. In addition, their first B-side (“Luau”) for the independent Candix label has been included here as a bonus track. This is the material upon which The Beach Boys’ legacy was built.
