Wanda Jackson’s influence is massive, spreading far beyond her gender and her heyday of the ‘50s & ‘60s. She was the female equivalent of Elvis Presley's leather suits and pelvic thrusting, the first woman to bring sex appeal to the rock & roll scene. The stage was her kingdom, and even today she rules it with an aggressive style and signature growl, which continues to shock thousand of listeners.

This quintessential release features two of Wanda Jackson’s finest albums from her earliest and most inspired years, both of which were originally released on Capitol Records: Rockin’ with Wanda! (1960), and There’s a Party Goin’ On (1959). These masterpieces helped define the exact nature of early rock & roll and contain several hits which helped Jackson establish her title as the Queen of Rockabilly, such as “Fujiyama Mama”, “Hard Headed Woman”, “I Gotta Know”, “There’s a Party Goin’ On” and “Mean Mean Man” among others. These formidable albums have been packaged together in this very special collector’s edition, which also includes 6 bonus tracks from the same period.
