The Everly Brothers topped the charts in Britain and America in the late ‘50s and early ‘60s with a series of close-­harmony hits including “Cathy’s Clown,” “Love Hurts,” and “All I Have to Do Is Dream.” They set unmatched standards for close harmony, and infused early rock & roll with some of the best elements of country and pop music. The enduring influence of the Everlys' expressive harmonies is also evident in the work of British Invasion bands like The Beatles and The Hollies, and of folk-­oriented acts such as Simon and Garfunkel. This special collector’s edition compiles two of The Everly Brothers’ classic releases: their second album Songs Our Daddy Taught Us (1958), and Instant Party! (1962). Both LPs contain great moments from The Everly Brothers’ hitmaking stretch during their most inspired years.

In addition, we have included 4 bonus tracks from the same period. Several of these splendid recordings feature a virtual who’s who of fabulous musicians from the Nashville scene, such as Chet Atkins, Hank Garland, Floyd Cramer, and Buddy Harman, among others.
