Alvin Curran

‘The Works’ by American composer and sound artist Alvin Curran was originally recorded in 1978 and is one of his most famous pieces. ‘The Works’ was developed from an interesting accident rather than a purposeful composition combining piano, vocals, found sounds and modular synthesizer. The music grows from spacious ambient tape music to raga chanting and increasingly frenzied piano playing.
