TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

The music in this CD comes from no-professional privates tapes and its technical sound quality its no up to today's standarts. However, it is released because of the impotance of the musicians involved and of its high musical and historical value. Every effort has been made to improve the sound qualilty through advanced restoration technologies.

This set contains Fats Navarro’s last studio session ever, included here in its entirety for the first time ever. He is showcased in a quintet format with Don Lanphere, Al Haig, Tommy Potter and Max Roach. Navarro would die shortly after on July 7, 1950, at the age of 26.
As a bonus, an unissued broadcast from the Café Society recorded just a few days before Fats’ disappearance and two rare jam sessions from a 1947 broadcast featuring the trumpeter.
