French electroacoustic pioneer Michel Redolfi achieved renown for his ‘underwater music’ concept in the late Seventies, using the Pacific Ocean as a sonic sounding board for his experiments. ‘Sonic Waters, Underwater Music 1979-1987’ is a fascinating document of this era, split into two distinct halves - ‘Music For Fresh Water’, dating solely from 1981, and ‘Music For Salt Water’ with a much wider timespan.
