TRACE is a collection of 11 unreleased tracks produced by Yutaka Hirose during the Sound Process Design sessions, right after the release of his classic Soundscape series album Nova.

The Sound Process Design project was established as a means for Hirose to impose his works as a bisector for designed spaces: museums, cafes, bars, anywhere with a distinct interior personality. By creating the recordings in each venue, and using tactile techniques such as placing speakers and instruments in certain spots, Hirose has achieved a haunting, otherworldly album of acoustic wondery, engaging the five senses in a musical ritual akin to that of Japanese tea ceremonies.
