This release presents te complete original album Boss Tenors (Verve V6-8426), perhaps the most revered LP ever by the sax tandem of Gene Ammons and Sonny Stitt, coupled with its companion album, Dig Him! (Argo LPS697), which had been taped the previous day by the exact same quintet. Each album was recorded for a different company and, curiously, both included versions of Autumn Leaves and Blues Up & Down.
