Featuring Jon Hendricks, Cannonball Adderley, Nat Adderley, Gildo Mahones and Walter Bolden Recorded in San Francisco and Los Angeles, 1958-1959

2 Albums on 1 CD! TOTAL TIME: 77:56

This set offers two long lost Wes Montgomery treasures; an authentic all-star date at San Francisco's Fugazzi Hall in 1959, and a second session with The Mastersounds performing their version of the Broadway Revue Kismet. For the first session Jon Hendricks assembled a group of legendary musicians as Monk and Buddy, Pony Pointdexter, Gildo Mahones, Walter Bolden and Nat and Cannonball Adderley - both originally unmentioned in the original release -. The band performed ten outstanding tracks that have been collecting dust in the vaults until now. The pairing of Kismet and the Mastersounds possesses the magic the spectacle pretended. The Mastersounds (featuring all 3 brothers Wes, Buddy and Monk) as well as pianist Richard Crabtree & drummer Benny Barth.

"An unprecedented release featuring two outstanding Montgomery sessions for the first time on CD. The fact that these dates also include the likes of Pony Poindexter, Nat and Cannonball Adderley, Jon Hendricks and brothers Monk and Buddy Montgomery make these essential recordings a must have for any jazz collector." - Alvin Hayes, Downbeat
