O QUÉ SERÁ: BOLLANI AND DE HOLANDA AT THEIR BEST
The fact that Stefano Bollani is one of the most creative and attractive forces of the present jazz piano scene seems to be undisputable. Watching him on stage is truly enjoyable, for he plays with his whole body and has a very amiable personality. However, that never goes in detriment of his music, and the present album, O QUÉ SERÁ his first commercial collaboration with renowned Brazilian bandolim (the 10-string mandolin) player Hamilton the Holanda after various concert duets, proves it once more. Together, they create a fully enjoyable moment which gets better each time you listen to it. The program includes compositions by Chico Buarque, Vinicius de Moraes, Ástor Piazzolla, and Antonio Carlos Jobim, among others, plus one composition by each performer. In any case, the players transform such a varied program into a very uniform suite, on which both Bollani and de Holanda get the best out of their instruments. A party for the ears, full of musical richness and showcasing a wide variety of moods.
