The Count Basie Orchestra

An 11-song CD that features the renowned band along with such All-Star guests as Geri Allen (p), Jamie Cullum (p, voc), Nnenna Freelon (voc), Jon Hendricks (voc) Hank Jones (p), Janis Siegel (voc) and Frank Wess (fl).

The Big Band pays tribute to a range of Jazz Legends, from Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan to John Coltrane and Count Basie himself.

Also brings on board three veterans of earlier Basie Bands - flautist Frank Wess, trombonist Curtis Fuller and drummer Butch Miles - and is the brainchild of CBO producer/conductor of special projects Dennis Wilson
