This release presents the complete original LP Black Orpheus –The Original Soundtrack (Epic LN-3672), plus all other known music recorded for the Marcel Camus’s film Black Orpheus. This amazing movie, which features music composed by the teams of Antonio Carlos Jobim-Vinícius de Moraes & Luiz Bonfá-Antônio Maria, was the first to show the world the marvels of bossa nova and of traditional Brazilian samba on the big screen. Among the musicians heard here are Bonfá himself and Roberto Menescal on guitar, and the vocals of Elizeth Cardoso and Agostinho dos Santos. Three songs from the film recorded shortly after by the great Joâo Gilberto have been added here as a bonus.
