This release contains all existing trio recordings by Dave Brubeck with the great Cal Tjader, who alternated between vibes, drums and bongos. The bass player throughout is Ron Crotty, who began playing with Brubeck’s octet in 1946 and stayed with the pianist until the early days of the quartet in 1953.

The music on this release comprises two complete LPs: "The Dave Brubeck Trio featuring Cal Tjader" (Fantasy 8073), and "Brubeck/Tjader – The Dave Brubeck Trio" (Fantasy 8074). As a bonus, the previous octet versions of two of the songs recorded by the trio, both of which also feature Cal Tjader.
