This remastered CD release presents one of Davis’ most iconic albums, Harlem Street Singer, which was originally issued by the Prestige/Bluesville label in 1961. The LP was recorded by Rudy Van Gelder at his studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. Gary Davis plays nothing but the acoustic guitar, and sings straight to the bone with his gospel drenched vocal delivery. In addition to the original masterpiece, this collector’s edition also contains 8 bonus tracks, including a number of solo recordings from the same period. It is truly an indispensable set for any blues fan.
