MINI-LP PAPERSLEEVE EDITION

INCLUDES 5 BONUS TRACKS

This release presents the complete original album "Night Train" (Verve V6-538), one of the many masterpieces recorded by the classic Oscar Peterson Trio with Ray Brown and Ed Thigpen. Particularly focused on Duke Ellington compositions, this LP also features the earliest version of Peterson’s own “Hymn to Freedom”. This was one of Peterson’s most commercially successful albums ever!

As a bonus, five previous versions by Peterson of songs from the album, all of them performed in a trio format with Ray Brown on bass. The third chair features Barney Kessel and Herb Ellis alternating on guitar, and, on the three final tunes, Ed Thigpen again on drums.
