"Gone with the Wind" (Columbia CL-1347) was Dave Brubeck’s LP immediately prior to the acclaimed Time Out. The group played several of these tunes for the first time in the studio, working out the final product spontaneously. This recording is masterful in scope and very stimulating in style and detail. The percussion of Morello and the bass playing of Wright are quite colorful and filled with texture and majestic rhythmic quality. The complete LP Time Further Out (Columbia CS-8490), a continuation of Time Out on which the quartet also explores unusual time signatures, has been added here in its entirety as a bonus.
