Deep deep sounds from this hip and cult figure Japanese drummer Ryojiro Furusawa who died, too young, in Januray 2011 at 65 years old. He had played with Yosuke Yamashita, Sadao Watanabe, Shigeharu Mukai and many others and is highly regarded by everyone who follows Japanese jazz. This wonderful music features a fusion-styled mix of keyboards and sax, but one that comes across with a gentle feel that's light years from conventional fusion! The balance is perfect throughout stretching out beautifully with no jamming modes at all, and really a great ear for the space between the notes that keeps the whole thing on an open-handed level. Players include Tomoki Takahasi on tenor and soprano sax and Toshiyuki Daitoku on keyboards. Titles include "June Rain", "Burning Cloud", "Moki", "Racco", and "Cum Cum".
