Flora Purim

The amazing first album from Flora Purim – recorded years before the Brazilian jazz singer would rise to much greater fame on the global scene! Here, Flora's stepping off of the late bossa years – working in a mode that recalls some of the jazzier bossa singers of the time, but also maybe stretching things out too – so that she's already beginning to show some of those amazing vocal talents that would make Purim an undeniable force in jazz, soul, and other Brazilian styles in the 70s.

The set features arrangements by a very hip cast – Edu Lobo, Roberto Menescal, and others – with backing by a jazzy lineup that features Meirelles on tenor, Paulo Moura on alto, Dom Salvador on piano, and Rosinha De Valenca on guitar – on titles that include "A Morte De Um Deus De Sal", "Sabe Voce", "Maria Moita", "Reza", and "Gente"
