This collector’s edition contains 30 remastered studio tracks from Luman’s harder-edged recordings, consisting of a variety of the great sides he made for Imperial, Capitol, Warner Bros., and the small Hickory label, between 1957 and 1962. These fabulous songs are true snapshots of the period. Bob Luman moves through a bounty of rock & roll gems tinged with twang and often supporting stellar guitar work by the likes of James Burton and Roy Buchanan. Some of the material here isn’t available on other collections, nor have these recordings ever been previously compiled together on one CD. This is an essential set for rockabilly fans interested in the birth of the genre.
