A free-wheeling goulash of R&B, gospel, avant-garde jazz, afrobeat, Brazilian percussion, and classic 70s booty funk, Oneness Of Juju was the brainchild of saxophonist / songwriter / producer James "Plunky" Branch. From their debut in the early 70s, the group has released more than 20 albums of celebratory, Afrocentric creative jazz, while earning comparisons to legends like Kool & The Gang, The Ohio Players, and The Meters. Most agree that the group hit their pinnacle in 1976, with the release of Space Jungle Luv, which features the project at its most vibrant, and its virtuostic. From Plunky's own wailing saxophones, to the sterling contributions from session greats like Rafael Solano, Joe Bonner, and even the legendary Nigerian percussionist Babatunde Olatunj
