A historic meeting of two exceptional artists took place on 28 August 1962 in Washington D. C.: Dave Brubeck and his band as well as Tony Bennett and his trio were invited to perform as part of the concert series "White House Seminar American Jazz Concerts". The Dave Brubeck Quartet was in great demand three years after his surprise hit "Take Five", which is probably one of the most famous as well as most successful jazz pieces of all time, and Brubeck was one of the leading figures of modern jazz.
The complete White House Sessions can now be experienced in SACD quality for the first time thanks to Impex Records. The SACD was mixed by Mark Wilder at Battery Studios, mastered and fully rendered in DSD and HDCD for a faithful sound, pressed at Sony DADC Austria and comes with a tasteful twelve-page photo booklet made of high-quality linen paper.
