OM - the cult band consisting of saxophonist Urs Leimgruber, guitarist Christy Doran, bassist Bobby Burri and drummer Fredy Studer - turns 50!

The quartet was considered a pioneer in a European electric free music jazz history. It brought together the experiences of a young generation electrified by Jimi Hendrix, fascinated by John Coltrane and inspired by free jazz

Since 2008, the Swiss band has been working with the Swiss label Intakt Records and has given their music the name ElectroAcoustiCore. American jazz guitarist and critic Jason Bivins, who has known the band for a long time, says: "OM is making their best music right now."
