Saxophonist and composer James Brandon Lewis possesses an inspiring energy. His deep curiosity and the thrill of discovery are crucial facets of his personality and qualities that guide his art. Inspired by molecular biology, James Brandon and his quartet of drummer Chad Taylor, pianist Aruán Ortiz and bassist Brad Jones develop a special system for music that is surprising and beautiful. He has taken the idea of "Molecular Systematic Music" to heart in formulating the compositions on this quartet's stunning debut album.
