Legendary Norwegian jazz rarity from 1976 - as a double LP on 45 rpm. The Peacemaker by the Per Husby Septet was unearthed by Mike Peden for BBE Music and is a beautiful, profound and little known small big band set recorded in 1976 by the elite of Norwegian jazz musicians led by pianist and bandleader Per Husby.

Originally issued for Husby on the label Studentersamfundets Plateselskap by the student society in Trondheim, Norway, this obscure jazz rarity had no budget for PR or distribution. With only 500 copies, pressed supplies were also rather scarce; it soon became a collector's item in Norway and then worldwide.

The album creates a great sounding, dynamic mix of original compositions by Per Husby, plus cover versions, such as Harold Land's modal masterpiece "The Peacemaker," and a first-rate selection of tunes that include post bop, modal, bossa and ballads by Kenny Wheeler, Cedar Walton and Charlie Parker.
