Jazz drummer Steve Reid has played with a wide range of musical visionaries including Sun Ra, Miles Davis, Fela Kuti and Kieran Hebden. ‘The Odyssey Of The Oblong Square’ was originally released in 1977 and is a classic of deep spiritual jazz from way out of leftfield. Horns weave in and out, bass rumbles and Reid’s drums are wild and varied, often locking into a hypnotic groove with the bass and percussion.
