Rodrigo Campos is a hell of a musical visionary -- able to tie together so many different strands here -- from complex jazzy charts, to rootsy percussion, to slight acoustic touches -- all with a group of like-minded collaborators who seem to realize his vision with the same sort of dedication and commitment we used to hear from Hermeto Pascoal's musicians in years back! The songs have an instant personality of their own, but also a power and majesty that puts Campos right up there with Milton Nascimento and Lo Borges at their best.
