Ahmad Jamal

American jazz pianist, composer, bandleader, and educator Ahmad Jamal has been for more than six decades one of the most successful small-group leaders in jazz. Known for his innovative and minimalist approach to improvisation, Jamal began playing the piano at a young age and went on to become one of the most respected musicians of his time.

His 1958 album "At the Pershing: But Not for Me" remains a classic in the jazz genre, featuring the hit song "Poinciana." Throughout his career, Jamal has collaborated with many other legendary jazz musicians and continues to inspire new generations of artists with his unique style and timeless compositions.
