This edition presents the complete original Quincy Jones LP Around the World (Mercury PPS 2014), featuring Jones’ legendary big band from the early 1960s. This formation boasted such stars as Benny Bailey, Clark Terry, Curtis Fuller, Phil Woods, Sahib Shihab an d Tito Puente, among many others. As a bonus the complete album I Dig Dancers ! (Mercury SR60612). The LP features the same band and immediately precedes Around the World in Jones’ discography. Also 4 extra tracks are added from the same sessions which didn’t appear on the original LP configuration. Neither the LP Around the World nor the two bonus songs “Close Your Eyes” and “Blues from ‘Free and Easy” were included on the comprehensive Mosaic box set dedicated to Quincy Jones !
