"Of all of the great bands to come out of England, none has earned more recognition - both nationally and internationally - than the Ted Heath Orchestra. His group garnered fame with a number of hit albums, regular work for the BBC and a Sunday-night concert series at the London Palladium. A charismatic leader, Heath demanded the most from his sidemen which at different times included such notable musicians as Ken Baker, Johnny Dankworth, Jack Parnell, Stanley Black, Danny Moss, Don Rendell and Ronnie Scott (who would later own the most famous jazz club in London), as well as arrangers George Shearing, Johnny Keating, Robert Farnon, Roland Shaw and Tadd Dameron!"
