TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

The music in this CD comes from no-professional privates tapes and its technical sound quality its no up to today's standarts. However, it is released because of the impotance of the musicians involved and of its high musical and historical value. Every effort has been made to improve the sound qualilty through advanced restoration technologies.

This release presents all of Brownie's private solo piano recordings for the fisrt time ever on a sibgle collection ( including many unissued pieces), and all of his tapes practicing the trumpet unaccompanied at home. Among the many bonus tracks, we have included two previously unissued gems from Brownie's roots: a 1952 live performance of " I come from Jamaica" with a long trumpet solo ( his first live recording!), and a trumpet-alto-sax duet version of "Ornithology", played with his teacher Robert Lowery in 1949 or 1950. This rare acetate constitutes Clifford Brown's first recording ever!!!
