The material contained here consists of the only LP Perkins ever issued under his own name, Introducing Carl Perkins (Dootone AUL-211), plus, as a bonus, two rare sessions which feature him playing unaccompanied piano (four tracks), and in a quartet setting in the company of guitarist Oscar Moore (the actual date’s leader), Joe Comfort on bass, and George Jenkins on drums. A single track from a Jim Hall Trio date showcasing Perkins, which was originally selected for a Pacific piano anthology, has also been added as a bonus.
