This release presents two classic Pourcel albums from his Capitol period: "French Sax" (Capitol T10126, 1956), and "La Femme" (Capitol T10015, 1957). Both LPs were recorded in Paris and released by Capitol for the American market. La Femme was composed by Les Baxter and Capitol’s producer Dave Dexter, Jr. Baxter considered it his “most satisfying” effort to date. As a bonus, we have included the opening track to the first volume of Pourcel’s classic series Amour, danse et violons.
