This release contains the classic John Coltrane & Cannonball Adderley album Cannonball & Coltrane, also known as Quintet in Chicago (Mercury SR60134) in its entirety. The LP showcases Cannonball and Coltrane sharing the frontline at a time when both saxophonists were members of the Miles Davis Sextet. This was their only conjunct recording without Miles. As a bonus, we have included the complete Coltrane quartet LP Mating Call (Prestige LP7070), which paired him with the great pianist and composer Tadd Dameron.
