This release presents te complete original LP Lester Young in Paris (Verve MGV-8378), which was Lester’s last studio album. He died in the early morning hours of March 15, 1959, only hours after arriving back in New York, at the age of 49.
As a bonus, some rare small group recordings made by Lester at Carnegie Hall in 1953 and 1955.
