The music of Pipe Dream is a deeply human meeting of voices that speak together and alone, sometimes wistfully, sometimes with dancing energy. The unusual instrumentation includes vocals, cello, trombone, vibraphone, piano and drums. The musical material of "Blue Roads" from jazz, chamber music and folklore comes from all five band members, who thus present themselves as a true collective. The recording was made under the direction of CAM Jazz mastermind Ermanno Basso for the label's 20th birthday in 2020.
