A later record from west coast saxophonist Jesse Sharps, as you might guess from the cover – but one that's very much in the spirit of the Nimbus Records scene of the 70s and 80s, of which he was such a big part!

The set features tunes from older labelmates Horace Tapscott and Nate Morgan, alongside other original material – and although the cover looks a bit "electric", the sound is mostly acoustic – with just a bit of guitar over plenty of percussion, bass, and reeds from both Tilman Engelhardt on soprano, baritone, and flute – and strong work from Sharps himself on tenor, soprano, bassoon, clarinet, and flute.

  • Jesse Sharps (tenor & soprano sax, clarinet, bassoon)
