Raeburn broke the mould. George Handy’s arrangements took the band away from the dance floor and into a concert jazz format. Young America was not ready for such innovation and within a year the band folded, but many years later I talked to Raeburn soloist Harry Klee and Brittwoodman, who spoke warmly of the experience. - Hep boss Alastair Robertson.
