This release presents Junior Mance’s complete trio albums Junior’s Blues (Riverside RS9447), Happy Time (Jazzland JLP977), and Big Chief! (Jazzland JLP953). As a bonus, five tunes taken from 1961 trio broadcasts at Birdland, four of which (“Ruby, My Dear”, “Summertime”, “Atlanta Blues”, and “Love for Sale”) repeat songs from the preceding albums. The live versions of the latter two appear here for the first time ever on CD!
