Luciano Luciani

Italian migrant relocated to Peru, Luciano Luciani put together an orchestra in the late 1960s. Following a successful 45, he recorded his first album on MAG comprising his own compositions. The record features Benny del Solar and Kiko Fuentes on vocals, the latter gaining legendary status after recording 'Mambo Rock' with Alfredo Linares. Although most of the repertoire is formed by orchestrated cumbias, this album also includes a salsa track that anticipates Luciani's growing interest in Nuyorican sounds.
