This remaster is from the sadly now deceased Maalem Mahmoud Gania, a pillar of the Gnawa music of Morocco and is his first solo vinyl release. Gnawa, originally from sub-saharan Africa, survives today as a subculture of Morocco, and its main plucked instrument (the guimbri) was mastered by Gania. Here, Hive Mind label curate the last Gnawa recordings of the man.
