2 LPs ON 1 CD + 2 BONUS TRACKS
4 STARS DOWNBEAT MAGAZINE - 4 STARS ALL MUSIC GUIDE (Introducing Kenny Burrell)
This release contains two LPs by Kenny Burrell, who was accompanied on both by pianist Tommy Flanagan. Weaver of Dreams (Columbia CS8503), recorded in 1960-61, features Bobby Jaspar on tenor sax and is unusual in that it showcases Burrell as a singer as well. Introducing Kenny Burrell (Blue Note LP1523) was the guitarist’s second LP as a leader - although the first to be issued. Taped in 1956, it features Burrell on guitar (no vocals here), plus such stars as Paul Chambers, Kenny Clarke and Candido Camero. It contains a different version of “Weaver of Dreams".
