Bangs introduces one of jazz’s most exciting trios to arrive in years. Pianist Jason Moran, guitarist Mary Halvorson, and trumpeter and cornetist Ron Miles collide in Bangs to push the boundaries of jazz, blending tempo, texture, and tune. Halvorson cuts the chords into shards, while Miles seems to sing and sigh the tune with his cornet. Moran winds between the two, threading them together like a piano puppeteer.
