The face of the New Wave in the 1960s and of free and protes-ting cinema, the icon Brigitte Bardot was as seductive as she was rebellious. In the precursor "Et Dieu Crea La Femme" (1957) by Roger Vadim (her husband since 1952), she is the object of a game of seduction during a dance scene with men literally at her feet.
The jazz music of Paul Misraki (who will later be a composer for Claude Chabrol) is festive and languid, it promotes swaying, and contributes to building a mythological dimension through its ancient sounds close to a snake dance. Five years later, Roger Vadim met again with his muse on "Le Repos Du Guerrier" (1962), this time with a musical score by Michel Magne (author the following year of the legendary music of "Tontons flingueurs").
The dance is still present with an explosive "Surprise Party". As a bonus track on this vinyl, the actress with the initials B.B sings the title ,Sidonie), (music by Jean-Max Riviere & Giannis Spanos / lyrics by Charles Cros) from the film ('Vie Priveew by Louis Malle (1962). In this feature film, she played her own role, that of a movie star hunted down by photographers and fans.
