American singer-songwriter and two-time Grammy Award winner Rickie Lee Jones is a real album specialist with this, Pieces of Treasure, being her fifteen overall in a career that has lasted over four decades so far. This one takes aim at the great American songbook, with ten covers all served up in ultra-smoky and seductive fashion. It finds Jones working again with Russ Titelman, the producer who was behind her 1979 self-titled debut album and the follow-up in 1981. The album was recorded over the course of just five days at Sear Sound studios in Manhattan and is one of her best of recent times.
