4 STARS ALL MUSIC GUIDE

A superb performer with a real knack for the blues, Debby Moore (1924-2017) only recorded one LP. She sang with some success in clubs, with the bands of Earl Hines, Rex Stewart and Count Basie, and was patronized by Louis Armstrong.

On My Kind of Blues, the pinnacle of her career, she is backed by brilliant jazz soloists Harry “Sweets” Edison, Jimmy Jones, Barry Galbraith, and Elvin Jones. She later went through hard times and gave up her career as a jazz singer.
