1989’s Art Deco is a studio album from jazz musician Don Cherry. On this collection of post-bop-leaning originals and covers (including 'Body And Soul', ‘I’ve Grown Accustomed To Her Face’ and a piece by Thelonious Monk) the trumpeter reunites with bassist Charlie Haden and drummer Billy Higgins whom he worked with in Ornette Coleman’s quartet, plus tenor saxophonist James Clay. Much less avant-garde than his late 1960s and 70s work but no less compelling.
