The New Classic Trio CD is a follow-up to The Classic Trio (1997) and The Classic Trio Vol. 2 (2000), both on Sharp Nine as well. On "The New Classic Trio", Hazeltine contributed several strong originals, including the hip "Blues for Sharpie," the constantly shifting "Another Divergence," and the infectious hard bop vehicle "The Rebound." This is an excellent addition to David Hazeltine's impressive discography and considered by many as the best of the Classic Trio trilogy..
