This is one of the rarest and most unique recordings of Sonny Stitt, one of the most prolific jazz composers of all time. The album, which was left on the Jamal label run by pianist Ahmad Jamal, features an astonishing array of big-name artists, including Herbie Hancock (p, key), Ron Carter (b), Grady Tate (ds), Gene Beltoncini (g), and Bucky Pizzarelli (g), and showcases the high quality of his playing alongside these undoubted musicians. participated in the event, and together with these undoubted musicians, they performed at a high quality level.

Sonny's strong brogue on the 4-beat is good, but the best part is the jazz funk numbers, which are appropriate for the recording period of 1970. Standards like "Out Of This World" and "Summertime" are covered with surprising jazz-groove interpretations, and the high-speed cover of "Sunny," which runs for over five minutes, is a real treat! The relentless drumming of Grady Tate is a real crowd pleaser. The funk funk of "Opus 1," arranged by Dave Ward, is also a masterpiece!
