Considered as the greatest French jazz funk band from the seventies, Cortex is admired by the “funk addicts” all around the world, oftentimes sampled and compiled by worldwide Rap and DJ stars. Alain Mion the founder and leader of Cortex is recognized as a talented and great Jazz pianist, certainly one of a kind in the ʻsoul jazz funkʼ style, in the same vein as Les McCann or Ramsey Lewis.
